Who are you?
I’m Marcus Segato, 33 years old - Half Brazilian/Italian
Rope Access Technician Level 2
I was born and grew up in Brazil until 2017, when life completely changed.. So I jumped out to Italy before settling down myself at London in April 2019.
What do you do?
Basically everything possible to do on the ropes, actually I'm raised with welder/pipefitter/metal worker background since as kid my father dragged me to the world industrial scene.
How long have you worked for StS?
It is coming up to be 3 months now onboard with this warm team.
How long have you worked as a RAT?
My first contact with Ropes was about 2008 on Brazilians Army after that in 2013 I’ve done my IRATA level 1.
What is the most important thing about your job and what do you find exciting?
Always carrying out tasks as a team, figuring out a best possible way to get any mission done within the safety norms and standards required. Also just the fact to be hanging out on ropes makes me feeling alive and motived.
What do you like to do in your down time?
Spending time with family and my son as much is possible, doing some surfing, skateboarding, climbing. And I love dogs.
And finally tell us something interesting about you..
The fact that I had received and learned to make a fire for survival during the army, saved my life in Italy on a day that was 3 hours from home and I couldn't get to the train station in time to catch the last of the day, I was completely lost in a small abandoned village. I made friends with a dog, we made a bonfire and spent the night there until the next day.
