Industrial rope access techniques allow work to be carried out at heights where alternative access is extremely difficult and costly. Today, industrial rope access is widely used in the construction and maintenance of oil and gas installations and wind turbines.
Rope access technicians working for StS Resources & Technology are highly experienced and have a variety of professional backgrounds. StS can deliver technicians with professional skills in, amongst others, welding, insulation, painting, rigging, NDT Inspection, pipe work and electrical work.
StS Resources & Technology provides the full range of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods comprising of VT, MPI, PT, ET (also called ‘eddy current'), UT (including phased array), and radiography.
NDT combined with industrial rope access, can save time as large scale expensive equipment often used in connection with more traditional access is not required. This results in considerable cost benefits due to the reduction of downtime, personnel requirements and equipment costs.
StS' knowledge and experience in the energy industry both on and offshore has enabled StS to supply high quality personnel to the Wind Turbine industry. Most StS technicians hold offshore certificates and are qualified in Rope Access, NDT or Rigging. Experience in the said areas simplifies a transition of StS' expertise to the present and future Wind Turbine industry.
The current Habitat system is equipped with a patented automatic ignition shutdown system which constantly measures pressure and temperature inside the Habitat enclosure. Gas detection outside the Habitat enclosure, also linked to the shutdown system, constantly monitor atmospheric changes i.e high concentrations of combustible gases. If the system detects gas, loss of over pressure or high temperature, all potential ignition sources e.g welding tools, grinders, are terminated by the automatic shutdown system.
The enclosure can also be fitted with a lightweight flexible air lock.
The StS positive pressure Habitat system is supplied with qualified habitat technicians.
Over the years StS have amassed a large portfolio of industrial riggers. The majority of our rigging personnel have the OPITO approved Rigger Assessment Level 3 certification and collectively have a vast number of years of practical ‘on site' experience.
StS have carried out many successful rigging projects such as SKARV FPSO, Gjøa and H6e Spitsbergen and Barents to name a few. Further rigging projects are due to take place later in the year.
